"The driver arrived without a child car seat even though this was requested at the time of the booking. There were clearly two stops indicated in the itinerary which the driver completely ignored. He passed by the first hotel that he was meant to stop at, did not stop and carried on and when I mentioned this to him he said he just needed to go around to make it easier to get there. After 5 minutes I asked him where he was going and he said Gidleigh Park (which was the second stop). I then said to him that there was a previous stop which we had passed 5 mins ago. He said he wasn't told, then he opened the booking reservation which clearly showed there was a first stop in the booking. We carried on towards Gidleigh Park, and he took the wrong turn and was going the wrong direction for about 10 mins until I flagged this to him and said he was not going the right way. In the end we took 1hour for a trip that should have taken 30 mins. The only reason I am not giving a lower rating is because at least the driver was accommodating when we told him our train got delayed. "

It was only by chance that I saw the e-mail 1.5 hours before collection as I shut down my computer - why didn't you telephone to ensure I got the message? If I hadn't seen the e-mail I would have missed the flight. As it was I had to ring round in a panic to find someone else. I shall never be able to trust you again. Receiving two e-mails headed 'cancellation' I wrongly believed that my return booking had been cancelled as well. You sent me an e-mail the following day confirming the return journey but I had of course gone away and could not receive e-mail. As a result your driver - who was not waiting at the appointed time when my back-up taxi arrived, and must have been late - was left waiting around. I trusted you and you let me down badly. I expect a full refund. The mark of a good company is how they respond when things go wrong...as they sometimes do."

Unable to contact any of the numbers given on the booking or the number that called me on Sunday morning to confirm. He did not arrive until 11.45. Assumed the taxi would be a marked car and meet me out front of arrivals. Was not told it would be a plain car without even a plate and to meet it in the short stay car park. I did see the driver at one point but as he was dressed as if for the beach, I assumed he was picking up a relative. Had I just taken one of the airport taxis on landing, I would have been at my final destination 50 minutes earlier than I actually arrived. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and one I will not repeat or recommend. "

However after I booked the taxi I realised that I had made an error with the time and although i sent 2 emails and spent 10 minutes on the phone (whilst on holiday) to one of your advisers, the time was not changed. The man on the phone, after putting me on hold for 10 minutes, told me the time had been changed. He tried to charge me a £5 admin fee and then changed his mind when I asked to cancel the booking. I asked him to confirm the change via email and he said that he would need to put me on hold to do that. This is unacceptable, I was not prepared to wait on hold any longer just for him to send an email. I never received the confirmation of the change and the time was not changed. The call was a complete waste of my time and money. Luckily the driver was very understanding and he was OK that we were late - we did rush to in order not to delay him and I felt that the experience made your company appear very dodgy. "

I saw drivers of other companies with names of passengers, but I couldn't see my driver, so I tried inside, outside, inside again, outside again, called the company, they gave me the driver's mobile number, but he wasn't on the phone, called again, so finally we found each other. He demanded 20 Pounds for waiting time as it was my fault in his opinion. Plus 5 Pounds for trying to call me on the number which I'd given, as this was an American number starting 001... So I gave him 20 Pounds extra, which makes a total sum of 114 Pounds rather than 94 Pounds. Apart from this: The driver's driving style was all right. The car was nice and clean."

It was lucky I accounted for enough time between travelling and my flights otherwise it could have made me late. Despite this I am understanding of traffic/miscommmunications, things like this do happen, although as a first time solo traveller on the mainland it doesn't put my mind at much ease, so the rating reflects that.
